Steve enjoyed a remarkable career in parks and recreation management and retired from the public sector in 2016. He has served as the executive director for three of the largest regional park districts in Ohio and is currently on the board of trustees for several local, state, and national conservation organizations. Steve has considerable experience with public sector administration, management and problem-solving. He has extensive experience with land acquisition, policy development, project and resource management, wetland restoration, long-range planning, and facility development. A spectacular administrative headquarters and visitor center. The previous park offices were in a house trailer.
Originally the building had been a hay/horse barn, converted into an office, finally renovated into a Nature Center.
Several parcels owned by three separate developers were ultimately purchase by Lake Metroparks and preserved as this remarkable lake front property.
The ELC was developed as an educational/visitor center. It was designed for preschool to adults, with supporting amenities for K-college experiences.
