Steve enjoyed a remarkable career in parks and recreation management and retired from the public sector in 2016. He has served as the executive director for three of the largest regional park districts in Ohio and is currently on the board of trustees for several local, state, and national conservation organizations. Steve has considerable experience with public sector administration, management and problem-solving. He has extensive experience with land acquisition, policy development, project and resource management, wetland restoration, long-range planning, and facility development. The Children's Schoolhouse Nature Park

A unique Lake Metropark facility designed and built in 1989. Specifically for children under 12 years old

The Geauga Park District Donald Meyer Center

Planned and designed in 1988

A spectacular administrative headquarters and visitor center. The previous park offices were in a house trailer. 

Penitentiary Glen Nature Center

Designed and renovated in 1989

Originally the building had been a hay/horse barn, converted into an office, finally renovated into a Nature Center.

Erie Bluffs

A project initiated in 2010

Several parcels owned by three separate developers were ultimately purchase by Lake Metroparks and preserved as this remarkable lake front property.

The Environmental Learning Center

Lake Metroparks 2008

The ELC was developed as an educational/visitor center. It was designed for preschool to adults, with supporting amenities for K-college experiences.

Fallen Timbers Battlefield

A Metropark Serving Toledo Facility.

Opened in 2015 at the actual location of the battle, in collaboration with several organizations including the National Park Service and The Fallen Timbers Battle Field Commission.
